This may not be the biggest strike force they could mount, but it seems to be a surprise that they could do this at all (plus subs, likely) No fleet tug for breakdowns, all the merriment that they can't really go very far. They are just showing capability. They have no plans to attack, but it is a surprise that they could get these ships within 35 miles of Honolulu and seemingly in functional shape.
