Abstaining in this vote is basically to vote for the government, since the vote can only result in removal of the government if more than half of the Parliament votes for the motion.

Most of the abstainers belong to the two centrist parties (the Liberals, and the Centre party). Those two parties broke ranks with the other non-socialist parties in 2018 and joined the Social Democrats and the Greens (and the former Communists) in a left-wing alliance.

They did not want to be ssen to actively vote for the Social Democrat PM. They fear that could be used against them in a possibly upcoming election. The fact that they spent the last two and half years supporting the socialist government has of course no importance what so ever!

Politicians and their media friends must belong to the least intelligent beings ever.
