Whenever you are informed that there is a problem with ANY account you have, of ANY type, never trust the messenger. Never click any links they give you, and never give them any information.
Instead, always go straight to the source.
If you are told there is a problem with your Yahoo email account, then go straight to mail.yahoo.com and attempt to assess the state of your account from there.
If someone tells you there is an issue with your bank account or credit card, tell them thank you, and hang up. Then call the trusted phone number that you have for your bank or credit card and assess the status of your account directly from them.
You are absolutely right. I slipped up because of how these messages were delivered. I deleted the mailbox on my computer, changed passwords and will now figure out how to notify everyone that I’m switching to Proton.
