And this is how it’s supposed to work. He repented and spent the rest of his life helping to rid the evil.
The problem with cancel culture is there is no grace, no forgiveness, no working together to help overcome evil.
David Livingston pretty much a forgotten man. (He was a Christian missionary, maybe that's why he's forgotten!) He in many ways became the symbol and voice of organizing the West (UK mostly!) against the African slave trade. No longer chic to point out that the African slave trade was then almost entirely in Africa. Also inconvenient that the merchants of that “cargo” were other Africans primarily Muslim Africans with some Arab Muslims thrown for diversity’s sake. Here's a great film on it. (See the link below!) By the way it still goes on ! You can find pictures on the Internet of slave markets in Libya, etc. All part of Hellary’s revolution I guess ! A friend of mine who is now retired from the State Department told me about seeing slave markets in northern (Muslim) Nigeria. (Within the last 10 years ! I am sure they're still there !). He had to travel the country as part of his job! He saw a lot of things that give meaning to the phrase - "African Wins again!" BLM needs to take a trip and see how much black lives matter in Africa !
