Iowa is a Free State and no restrictions for Covid.
Or rather, we ignore them.
Stop and enjoy a pork Tenderloin someplace in Iowa. Pretty famous around here.

I actually enjoyed traveling to Detroit.
Got stuck in traffic once, and a guy got out and started making balloon animals for all of us. We ended up having a bit of a picnic while sitting on the freeway.
River walk was fun, though I had a local with me. Went to some Greek place and had great food.

For a good time in California I’d suggest Idaho or Utah.

Well, you aren’t hitting NH during bike week. All over tomorrow. What a great time. Not a mask to be seen. Other than that, Mount Washington is the place to go. Highest peak east of the Mississippi. Drive to the summit on a harrowing tiny road or be jerked up the mountain on the NH cog railway all done in a few hours.
Happy Trails to you.

Excellent Greek food here! There used to be a thriving Greektown on Monroe Street near Downtown. Still a couple good restaurants there but in fact they are all over the place now.

if you are going to Orlando FL, avoid Didney and check out The warbirds Museum in Kissimmee. You might even get to fly a WW2 Navy Texas T-6. (I did!)

I don't live there (yet), but if you don't spend at least a night (I recommend two) at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR, then you'd really be missing out. When you step through that door, you step straight back into the 1930s. Not only is it America's "most haunted hotel", but, at least when I was there a couple of years ago, it's also America's most dog-friendly hotel.
While I've not made it there yet, Chena Hot Springs Resport in Alaska is also on my bucket list, and worth looking into.
Here in FL I'll recommend The National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola (although visit the web site first to learn about COVID-era visitor restrictions). Also, I'll recommend the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, FL.
The Gulf Drive Cafe' near Anna Maria Island - right on the beach - often has live entertainment and has a key lime coconut cake that ... well .. words fail!
When driving through Florida I recommend any Sonny's BBQ restaurant. I'll be visiting Sonny's for Father's Day tomorrow, in fact.
