After retirement I taught a business class at a local university for one semester. About 30% of the students were foreign and most of them were Chinese. The US students were very woke, lazy, and self centered. The Chines students were eager to learn, ambitious, driven to succeed, and extremely disciplined. My takeaway was the Chinese were hungry and ruthless while the Americans were hobbled with a sense of entitlement and lacking in a drive to succeed. There was no doubt in my mind the Chinese students will destroy the Americans in the marketplace of the future.

Nobody around here wants to hear that, but they need to thank Xi Jinping. If not for his totalitarian, neo-Maoist misrule China would have surpassed the USA already.

China has young and immense intellectual resources that remain leashed by the CCP. They almost broke out a few years ago, but the old men got badly scared by the Internet and its power to share anti-government information. China has taken several steps backward in the last few years.
