As I understand it, it wasn’t the players, it was the fans. I certainly hope the fans don’t surround the stadium chanting ‘puto’. That would be terrible.

I confess I don’t understand the rabid enthusiasm for the game. I went to a mall in Costa Rica and there were four or five sets on showing different soccer games and each had large audiences. And one time while at daughter-in-law’s house the Costa Rica team scored a goal and the whole neighborhood erupted in cheers.
