I recall a time when I didn't have air conditioning in 100 degree weather... we kept our feet in cold water baths and fans in our faces with spritz bottles...or we went to places that had air conditioning.

Last week my wife was at her mom’s house for a few days. The AC went out during a mid 90’s heat wave. Uncomfortable? Sure
They survived.
