Rule of thumb: The body needs 10 X ( body weight ) = resting metabolism. So if someone is huge, say 350 pounds, then they need to eat 10 x 350 = 3,500 calories per day if they are completely sedentary to maintain a weight of 350 pounds. That's a lot of calories/day.

So if they go on a 1,000 cal/day diet they have a 2,000 cal/day calorie deficit. At that deficit level they will lose a pound every 1 1/2 to 2 days or 15 to 20 pounds per month!!!..

It isn’t “calories in / Calories out”. LOTS of evidence now. No one familiar with the science would argue it is just calories.

Calories DO play a role. And extremes of calorie cutting WILL result in weight loss. But that is a STUPID way of doing it because there ARE ways a fat person can gradually reset their body.

I’ve done diets for nearly 50 years. What I’ve done the last 3 is working FAR better than any diet I tried before.
