One of the things I learned is that you should never push and increase exercise increments too rapidly. Your brain doesn’t like to be in pain, the idea is to actually look forward to regular and steady exercise. Also, the goal is to be exercising regularly, not laid up for a few weeks while an older body slowly heals after injury. It’s better to skip a day than push through some pain and then not be able to do your routine at all for weeks or months. Patience is rewarded with exercise.

Also, don’t eat anywhere close to bed time.

we men tend to start out where we left off at 20yrs old.

It doesn’t work if you’ve been on the couch for 40 years!

A little DOMS is expected, but pay particular attention to your joints and tendons. If those are sore, take another day off.

And work at a consistent pace through time, with gradual increases.
