Small business failure rates have always been brutal

I don’t think this is the case, but are you suggesting government shutdowns of small businesses, but not mega corporations, is somehow justified given the high failure rate of small businesses.

In our area there were many small businesses that had been in business for decades that had to shut down permanently—there was definitely nothing “normal” about 2020.

My comment had a link (https://www.national.biz/2019-small-business-failure-rate-startup-statistics-industry/) which shows the failure rates.

Small businesses have always had high failure rates, typically financial mis-management. The article would have been better if it had more thoroughly analyzed the various reasons. I didn’t justify the government doing anything.
