Ah. The left’s argument. That’s worked well.
The left destroys things. Educating somebody to the point where they are employable builds society. It helps people leave prison for good.
If an inmate doesn’t want to take advantage of opportunities given him, that’s his problem. He can spend the rest of his life committing acts of petty crime if that’s all he wants.
Educating people to have skills that they can find a job is good conservative argument, imo.
In a Canadian prison that I was at, they have a single room where an inmate can go in and learn. The prison provides the textbooks that must never leave the room and it is staffed by volunteers.
It seems to work.
