Even though the number of cases is way down, they are overwhelmingly among the smaller set of unvaccinated people. The net result, is that in some sub-populations of unvaccinated people (as Washington State recently reported) the infection rate is almost as high as it was during the peak in January.
We will probably see COVID cases and deaths continue among the unvaccinated, for quite some time to come. Attitudes toward the vaccine will likely shift marginally, as this becomes more apparent over time.
