Excess Deaths more meaningful and they don’t really look much different from June last year.
The bad news is this level is about where things were just before the LEGAL immigration from Mexico beginning late June on tourist visas. They came to Texas and Arizona, went to the hospitals there to die. No restrictions then.
Can’t blame them. The Mexican hospitals were saturated.
Regardless, levels are where they were last June. This numerical reality becomes uncomfortable if the upticks hold.

May be misunderstanding you (did you mean level of deaths- not excess deaths?), but the graph is VERY diff from last June.
