My grand father considered FDR to be a socialist devil. He migrated from Italy got citizenship through WW I. Went into business as a mason and when social security came around refused to sign up as he said it was a socialist program. My grandmother was a dem. So whenever voting day came along he would not let her out of house to vote for that socialist SOB.
