The Great American

Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is a great man.

"Jesus said, 'I among you am as one who serves' (Luke 22:27). And he also said, 'Whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant' (Mark 10:44). By the way, it is dreadful to see this recommended as only another technique for succeeding in leadership. He was telling us who the great person is." —Dallas Willard, The Great Omission

When we turn our gaze from first-century Judea to Washington, D.C., it becomes difficult to find any great people. The "seventeen intelligence agencies" that supposedly found a link between Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and Vladimir Putin aren't populated with great Americans. Service to America measured not by lies, but by truth. They were performing a great service to their constituents, a mutual admiration society built on subterfuge, omertà, and concentrated power. But America is about freedom, openness, and opportunity.

In the halls of the Supreme Court, we find the occasional great man. Clarence Thomas stood up against the slings and arrows of Joseph Robinette Biden, who happily paraded fabricated charges against him during his confirmation hearings. Over the years, he has clearly spoken in service to the Constitution, which stands as the only check the American people have on sovereign power emanating from D.C. As a Black man, when the University of Michigan practice of racial preferences was before the Court, he was understandably sympathetic to the idea of Blacks having wide access to higher education. But he objected in the strongest possible language the use of race in public life.

The Constitution abhors classifications based on race, not only because those classifications can harm favored races or are based on illegitimate motives, but also because every time the government places citizens on racial registers

Most of the elitists in government seem to despise the people and seem intent on causing harm.

Donald J. Trump was, is, and will continue to be a “force of Nature” in his intensity and energy, which took the United States by storm. Donald Trump does not lose, he is either winning, or is having a learning experience, from which he emerges an even keener and more durable power than ever before.

His enemies misunderestimate him.

From the article: “Yes, he is a deeply flawed man. But he is a servant, and that is the essence of greatness.”

Could someone please explain what exactly are Donald Trump’s “deep flaws.” And why do conservatives always feel the need to add qualifiers like this when they are talking about him?

He is too trusting of subordinates. They knife him in the back. He needs to fire everybody's ass in D.C. Don't tell me "He can't doooo that, the derp state won't let him." B.S. If he gets back in - and I will be voting for him even if I have to crawl over broken glass - he needs to be quicker on the trigger to fire anybody who isn't carrying out his agenda on time and under budget. It's not like he has anything to lose at this point. "Oh no, the media might say bad things about him." He can handle it.

Thanks for the reply, but that’s not the “personality flaws” that people seems to refer to - without specifying what those flaws are.

However, I wholeheartedly agree with you that he needs to fire people in Washington. And he definitely needs to fire everyone of those asses in the DOJ, FBI, and State departments.

We no longer have a ‘government’.

A cult occupies DC and their affiliation with American citizens is an illusion.
