Well, since it looks like they are going to nuke the planet, maybe most will be (although nothing ever turns out so absolutely in this show).

Radioactive zombies! I read a novel where the zombie infestations were nuked. The ones that weren’t incinerated didn’t rot away. It was a problem.

And the episode ends in a cliffhanger. Does everybody get nuked? Is there a surprise self destruct or fail safe? Was one MIRVed missile enough? Tune in next week. At least it is a diversion from the real world.

Amazing that the batteries still had juice after all that time, especially given the reactor obviously had been moved off-line years ago.
My guess is that the warheads weren't properly armed, and all or most of them will fail to detonate.
