If the media ignores it, it didn’t happen... VKind of like how they are reopening businesses and the public in general based on COVID “case” numbers are pretty much the same as when they locked everything down.

Sure - I suppose we could do it again if we wanted to engage in social distancing all the time, never eat at restaurants dining in, always wear masks / protective gear, overload on hand sanitizer, be barred from entering buildings if you have even minor symptoms of any illness that could be remotely possible to be the cold or flu, have the cleaning crews working around the clock in every building instead of just once a day dousing everything in heavy disinfectants in an ongoing basis, etc. like we did the past year.
Otherwise...no.

turns out if you dont actually test for it, you dont ever actually know you have it....
Bingo. Just shoveled people infected with this nasty flu into nursing homes and assisted living facilities, stirred in heavy doses of media hysteria, and voila! PANDEMIC!
What’s funny is that was a SImpsons episode where it turns out Mr. Burns was invincible because he had so many disease in him all at the same time, competing for dominance, so that none of them could kill him.
Well the problem with that reasoning is that any illness needs a diagnosis to understand what it is you are sick with, ANY ILLNESS, whether it’s cancer or the flu.
