Of course I can.

The numbers may not be perfect. But they are the best we have.

Even if all 320 million people in the nation had gotten covid instead of just the 34 million diagnosed. The infection fatality rate would be 612,000/320 million or 0.19%.

So my conclusion wouldn’t change at all. The vaccine in the short run is far safer than getting the virus. But the vaccine is not perfectly safe.

I believe if you had true numerator and denominator for both you would find that gap tighten.

We all know your numerator as well as your denominator are not correct for covid cases. We also know the numerator for vaccines is not true. The only true number we have is the denominator for vaccines.

As I said, math does not work like that. Your percentages are useless.

Danny, you are calculating a mortality rate across all age groups and co-morbidites. That’s fine if you were predicting mortality rate for falling off a 100-story skyscraper, where gravity acts on all bodies equally. Covid most assuredly does not act on all bodies equally.

In my home county, 80% of Covid deaths occurred in nursing homes. i am not in a nursing home, QED, my mortality risk is 80% lower. I am also not obese, not a smoker and have excellent overall health. My risk is minimal. I won’t get the vaccine because currently there is immunity from liability for all parties involved. I’ll get it only if required to do so by my employer, such that if I have an adverse reaction, my employer is liable.

No one “gets” the virus.

Crap base level immunity is the problem. It is addressed with increasing blood levels of vitamin D. If the health authorities care about us, how come there are no PSAs encouraging everyone to get their D levels tested and take action to raise them if necessary?

The vaccine, like all the others, lowers base level immunity, meaning that we are now more susceptible to new infections. Oh joy.
