Interesting article which I totally can not understand but most importantly, have no idea how it will impact my life.

I'll have to discuss it with by bowling team tonight after the game in the bar.........

It means you’ll be able to balance your checkbook in minutes instead of taking an entire Saturday afternoon...

What it means?
You can solve problems quickly but it takes longer to prepare and to interpret the results.

And already pornographers and vote fraud organizations are looking at how to use this power.

there is no ‘gain’ from a three-terminal-device.

a general purpose computer is not possible
with this stuff

It will impact your computer security. If, what used to be impossible equations or random numbers to solve for computers that kept your computer safe, how can they make your computer safe when it takes a second for anything you could use to secure your computer to be broken?

Improving latencies? They must be concerned with the Big O. There is definitely a notation for that.

That’s an actual computer science observation ;-)

Theyll push out new encryption standards or recommendations like going from AES 128 TO 265 or 512.

Those will only be temporary at best. The thing about quantum computing is that it can go through any equation nearly instantly.

The adaption to it will be interesting, when there is no conceivable way to secure things.

LOL...But it's already been discussed..."quantum computing...120 times faster than previously possible"...

We're going too fast...Things are getting out of hand. We're
putting men into situations that are too tough for men to handle.

Certain classes of algorithms are not sped up by executing on quantum processors. There’s lots of encryption that is not going to be broken by quantum computing anytime soon. Not the current stuff that is being used, but ciphers are mostly substituteable.
