absolutely ... i’ve talked to a number of walmart employees, and almost all are part time, AND are essentially on call at all times and at the drop of the hat to be “scheduled” to come to work RIGHT NOW ... essentially, walmart employees have no life outside of waiting around to see when walmart wants them to come to work ... my guess is the “free” samsung “smartphone” will be primarily a glorified work pager ...
Of course it is. I had a pager back in 1985. And I was happy to have it back then as I always wanted to get the extra hours (and income) when I was an hourly worker. I would work 100 hours a week if I could.
Now that I'm on salary, the "24/7 availability" has lost its lustre.
