They are simply the vehicles used by prior Earth civilizations, some human, some human-like, some not. In 4.5 billion years, anything could and did happen.

But they left nothing durable behind? Nothing was dropped, discarded, or just fell off? A civilization that has vehicles capable of near instantaneous travel is 100% biodegradable?
