Think outside the box.

Let's not leave "the box" entirely. It seems these things have a penchant for military bases and activity.

They do "seem" to have a penchant for military bases and activities--particularly nuclear.

But we don't have the same sensitive detection technology elsewhere that we do at military bases so we can't speak authoritatively about all the other areas where they might have taken an interest.

For all we know, they may be spending most of their time--albeit undetected--around pubs, bars, and strip clubs.
