I don’t agree with the race angle espoused by SAS here but it does appear to be a case of someone “failing up”. What did Stevens do to earn this position? I personally don’t care for him. He caught lightning in a bottle for a couple years at Butler and has been hyped ever since. Burnt out from coaching at age 44? Kind of pathetic if you stop and think about it. Definitely not the legacy of a great coach.
