My brother was a grunt. He was in the 25th Infantry Division. Actually served as point man from time-to-time, and carried the grenade/mortar launcher in Vietnam '66-'67. I'm sure he did other things, but would never talk about it. My mother assumed he'd come home in a box. Thankfully he didn't, but he did break his toe while he was stationed at Fort Carson. Got pissed and kicked his foot locker. Died of a massive heart attack at 51 back in 1990. Thank God my parents were both gone by then. It would have killed my mother. He was the only son.
