Glad you got away fairly cheaply. I’m 74, and have never owned a home. I’m glad now I never did. I just figure it’s one less thing my kids will have to deal with when I’m gone. I told my oldest son to just hire a dealer who goes in and organizes everything, then schedules a sale or auction. I only have a two-bedroom apartment. I have more books than anything else.
We bought a second (vacation) home three years ago in Idaho. We got so fed up with California horrendous governance (taxes, illegals, crime, graffiti, wasteful spending on trains, WOKE crap, etc) we bought in Idaho. Now I’ve got two homes to maintain. Ugh. Fortunately, I do enjoy expunged things in good repair and improvements, but it sure does take time.
Renting sounds great at times!
