Superb article! I wish we had an upvote option here on FR.
If it is “cultural appropriation” for me to wear Asian-themed clothing or for Rachel Dolezal to identify as African American, how is it not “gender appropriation” for a man to dress as a woman, have surgery to resemble a woman, and claim he makes a better woman than actual women? I will believe HE is a woman when HE experiences the joys of menstrual cramps or pops out a baby.
It is; but, when the Left says it is not, then it is not. I predict that in the near future no actual female will win anything.
Now, can I call "cultural appropriation" on the new movie/series(?) that is coming out where Anne Boleyn is a black woman?
There are actual portraits of this woman and she was NOT black. Where is the outcry about that? Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII produced a female child, Elizabeth, with red hair and a very light complexion. Black women do not produce such a combination.
