“Did India not avoid the brunt of the impact of COVID deaths suffered by so many other countries in 2021 before the advent of the experimental serums from Pfizer, ModeRNA, AstraZenica, etc.? How did they do that?”

My understanding was that they previously used Ivermectin but then were talked out of using it as the vaccines came out...so they simply went back to using it, and they’re heading back to the virus not being a problem.

In hindsight, likely a mistake to stop using it.

I think that there certainly was some “start and stop” but as more and better information is coming out of India, it’s also the case that different regions, cities and states had different approaches. It’s a huge population, after all.
Goa and Uttar Pradesh had (and have) organized, widespread ivm distribution for early treatment and contacts.

Other states did not, and suffered in consequence.
