The kids broke into an unoccupied home and found a shotgun, an AK-47, and ammunition. Then they opened fire on the police.
This is all on the kids, of course. But I gotta wonder where the homeowner kept his guns because they were evidently easy to find.

Yeah, I’d say the little nippers are “troubled,” all right.

Is the sheriff Joie Chitwoods grandson. Would make for a good high speed chase.

He only had 200 rounds of ammo. May have been by bed for home defense. Can’t blame him.
Girl had stole puppies in past and was put in half way house. She burnt it down. She was likely leading the 12 year old astray. She should be put in jail a long time but she won’t. She will have to make someone else’s life miserable when she is older before she is put in jail for good.

The homeowner likely left his guns where he found it convenient, not planning for people to break into his home while he was gone. Remember the days of glass-fronted gun cabinets?

In my experience with juvenile proceedings, putting someone in a half-way house happens only after many brushes with the law. Half-way houses cost money the state would rather spend somewhere else.
I do not know the legal system in Florida, but in many states unless she is charged as an adult, she’ll be cut loose when she turns 18 and her criminal records will be sealed.

One of them, the female, is an arsonist.
DeSantis, better put your state’s juvenile justice system higher on your to do list.

What are the odds she will be “reformed” at 18? At best she will end up a BLM supporter and an activist.

Kids are well aware of right from wrong easily by 12 yrs old. These two knew what they were doing and likely well on their way to being career criminals.

The girl eventually came out of the garage with the shotgun and pointed it at deputies. They repeatedly asked her to drop the weapon, Chitwood said. She walked back into the garage.
“She comes back a second time and that’s when deputies open fire and she takes multiple rounds,” Chitwood said.

Being reformed has nothing to do with it. Under many states’ laws, if they are in juvenile custody, they get released on their 18th birthday.
The Arkansas kids who shot up their school and killed several kids and teachers could only be charged as juveniles under the law at the time. They were released with new names and ‘clean’ records.
One of them ended up living not far from where I live and his true identity was only revealed when he died in a car wreck. Although his records were supposed to be sealed, the local sheriff’s office was aware of who he really was. He even tried to apply for a concealed carry permit.

The guns certainly we’re locked up. I’m surprised that the kids were able to load and fire the AK-47.
The 14 girl sounds like a real hell raiser. I’s like to see a pic of her.
