The article indicated that a similarity dated (1705) instrument by the same maker sold at a recent auction for about US $700k. Images shown indicate this one needs some restoration work. So, in its present condition, maybe US $650-600k?

I went to the site. Not an ad or popup to be seen.
Appears to be a serious site by a serious magazine about playing the violin. Everything is about violins and playing violins.
So what am I missing?
