From experience (and it appears the locals agree) the worst tourists are large groups of Chinese. Rude, loud, obnoxious, constantly spitting on the ground and you just don’t want to be in the same restaraunt. Literally laughing, yelling, chewing with their mouths open and spraying each other and anything nearby with food.
Ethnic Singaporean Chinese and Chinese from China are two different things. Most Singaporean Chinese are pretty cosmopolitan, which comes from living in a country with a very high standard of living that’s about the size of Los Angeles. They claim to be more polite and less pushy than people from Hong Kong, who they call “Honkies.” Most speak English and speak it well, although they have funny British usage. When I was there the office “messenger” was called a “peon”, and the cleaning lady was the “charwoman.”
Try being on a hiking trail with a group of them.
I dunno. The rudist group I ever met was a bunch of Russians in Yellowstone. Nasty bunch.
From my experiences....bad about breaking in line.
