Nutritionists, Doctors, Therapists, Scientists change their minds about what's healthy every decade. How many times has the food pyramid changed?
NEWSFLASH: I've been drinking and smoking (10 yr break) since my teens. I'm 71 and can run circles around many 40 year olds. Why? Exercise, lean meats, yogurt, and low index fruits/veggies. I drink a pint of rum a night and get up and on my treadmill the following day. Exercise that makes you breath hard is everything!
I'll say again, after all the diets my wife tried, she lost the most when just eating lots of protein, minimal cheese (fats), and low index fruits/veggies. Sometimes she would skip the fruits/veggies and just take a vitamin supplement for those nutrients. Now, she's gotten back to the carbs and getting big again.
Nutrition and weight control is not rocket surgery...ha.
