What is an “open-air pool”? An outdoor pool - as opposed to an indoor pool.

No fence, maybe. Or an outside pool.

No roof over the pool. Not enclosed.

I guess just a large, outdoor swimming pool...

Nothing more than an outdoor pool....the brits have odd names for some things. A “torch” is a flashlight, a “fag” is a cigarette. They call a car hood a “bonnet”....weird.

Open air pool: Outside, as opposed to inside.
.i.e., ‘No roof.’
‘Outdoor pool’ is appropriate; ‘open air’ is just moronic English language specificity and merely one result of decades of paying so-called ‘academics’ to do nothing but study the supposed vagaries of language use and write new rules.
Sort of like Congress. /s
