Actually I may have been one of the first to get it. Back in late January 2020, I was locked in a conference room with a court Reporter who was coughing up a lung for 2 hours. I came home and told my wife that I was probably going to get sick. About a week or so later I experienced what I assumed was the flu. And I don’t think I had ever gotten the flu before in my life. I had to call in sick for about 4 or 5 days and I hadn’t called in sick in about 15 years. My wife got it too. This was before any of the lockdowns occurred. I got over it and didn’t think about it.

I know one person who died of COVID. He was a liberal so I suspect he poo pooed the idea of HCQ or anything Trump suggested. His office was religious about following all the protocols: masks, distancing, washing hands, sanitizing the mail... everyone in that office got COVID. Several people were hospitalized and two died in an office of less than 20 people.

I personally believe that if you are too sanitary that you will be more vulnerable. They found that Polio was most virulent in homes where sanitation was primary. In other words, before the vaccine, the more precautions you took, the more likely you were to get it.

I also believe that people who wear masks all day are more vulnerable. The mask will pick up some virons that will stick to your mask and you breathe them in and out all day. Eventually they stick to your lungs. They can’t do a clinical study because now everyone has to wear one. There’s no control group.

Well I’m the control group for not taking the jab.

When they come up with a real vaccine that is clinically proven to be safe and effective and didn’t use aborted babies or “humanized mice” I might consider it.

I have heard several stories like yours from friends, who had traveled or whatnot in late 2019 or early 2020 and then said what they called the worst case of flu they ever had. I think the actual infection rate is double that of the official numbers - and I base this from Red Cross data on blood sample tests.

Ordinarily we’d be knee deep in mud, dirt, pollen, dust, whatever. I am not afraid of germs. But they played this virus up big and I have access to industrial quantities of 200 proof alcohol. So we filled a couple of those garden weed spray bottles with either 100% isopropyl alcohol, or my own 71% concentrate of SD Alcohol (measured by volume). So for a while there, we sprayed everything down like they were garden weeds. The wife still carries a bunch of sprayer bottles in the car - for gas pump hoses, shopping carts, you name it. She will spray and then spray again. She’ll spray her steering wheel just because she feels like it. LOL. I don’t mind.

We won’t go mad over this. This too shall pass. Before covid we were not so antiseptic but I do recall, when President Trump called for the travel ban end of January 2020, I called the missus (she was visiting her family a few hours drive north) and asked her to go to the most remote Costco she could find and stock up on all the dried and canned goods she could get. Even at that time, before it was “official” many of the items at Costco were sold out. But I have a years supply of rice, beans, sardines and tuna. No harm in that.

I would like to see more neutral data on infections. I like to repeat that Red Cross statistic because it’s interesting to me, one of the few ways to get a real scientific look at things. 20% of blood donors, unvaccinated donors, showed presence of antibodies. That is a key piece of information. It may not be perfect to extrapolate to all of society, I imagine that many donors are front line workers who were more likely to be exposed. But 20%, extrapolated out to the USA, is more than double the official numbers reported. Good or bad. But if it holds true, it means we are closer to herd immunity, and it means the disease is only half as fatal as the reported numbers. Of course, the vulnerable are at much more risk but in the general sense, it seems to be much more virulent and at the same time a lot less deadly than the “official” numbers may indicate.
