Not surprised they're casting a girl as the lead in a movie recycled from 34 years ago. Who else could you sell such a recycled film to when anyone else can just watch the original?

Hollywood hasn't had any gas left in the inspirational tank for decades. They're recycling from the archives to sell to whatever market is left, as well as foreigners who haven't learned yet. They're also hoping to add toy marketing to the recycled product that wasn't part of the original.
