I think its complicated bud.
The country of China is dying.
They have 5-7 years to do something before it becomes more unlivable than it already is. Add in the Three Gorges Dam which has been on life support for over a year and threatens 400 million, some nuke plants on the river,some of the worlds big phrama pills,major cites of 10 million or more some already flooded,and you have a clusterfork of major issues in China.
They saw this coming and in good old CCP love it or die response they have been trying to buy,steal or in-debt the rest of the world as fast as they can with some measure of success.
When it comes to the U.S. they just want us gone but not until they can steal,buy, or ripoff all or most of our wealth. They don't seem to understand the dictates of capitalism at all.
So its a huge mess, how it will all be sorted out remains to be seen.

Due to their One Child Policy and families favoring boys over girls China is forecasted to get old before they get wealthy. It has been stated that in the 2035-2040 time frame China will have more old than young and that the old will continue to outgrow the young for a couple decades. This will cripple or destroy China because being good communist they do not have the infrastructure to handle the old. Plus with less children the tradition of the children taking care of their parents becomes a high burden imposed on their young. So yes they have this decade basically to try to accomplish their goals of world dominance, but with a rapidly aging society they may well fall in to the trap of getting stretched beyond their capabilities coupled with their having copied everything they have no innovation in their society. Innovation needed for their coming decline. And even Taiwan knows about their vulnerability with the 3G dam. Knock out the dam and you’ve basically knocked China back into the pre-industrial era. China is more vulnerable than people realize. Trump knows this and it is another reason he needs to be back soon to put the final nail in communist China’s coffin.
