Without doubt, KathyinAlaska is one of the most awesome FReepers and deserves recognition and praise. She's selflessly run the FReeper Canteen & "Tunes for the Troops" for more years than I care to remember. She has sent more donations to our troops than probably anyone here: DVDs, CDs; devices to play them on, Gedunk (troop tawk for Candy & treats), etc.
She's rescued me more than once, from despair, a particularly difficult divorce and separation from my son, hard times and disease. For more than 2 decades she's led the prayer chain that's lifted me up (and gosh knows how many others) she's spread her FRiendship, happiness, support, and love without reserve or remorse and been the voice on the phone that talked me off the ledge.
Most recently she sent a Laptop to my GI JAMs project at the VAMC when I mentioned somewhere that ours got broken - She's one of the most thoughtful people I've ever known (and I'm really old). On the Canteen threads she's known as "MA" because were all love her so. She's never said a word on the main forums about the things she does, but if anyone (besides JR & John)should be on Free Republic's Mount Rushmore it's our beloved Kathy - God bless her. And someone give me an AMEN!
