Anyway, that’s nice, but I chafe at how people call everyone a hero based on doing their job in the face of a virus not so risky.
Soon they’ll be equating these Wal-Mart greeters with United 93.
There’s a great clip of Norm MacDonald doing stand-up where he starts making fun of people who say “teachers are the real heroes”. There is a teacher in the audience who starts arguing with him, and he says “so you do think you’re a hero?”
She says yes, and then he hits her with a gem: “Well, there you go, real heroes never think they are heroes.”
