It's a self-preservation tactic we've been imbued with.
I work in a hospital ER and over time you begin to notice in some patients who is approachable and who is not.
Certainly drunks or mentally ill people are not unless you're a trained professional therapist, which I'm not. But most patients, being nervous or in pain, after a little while appreciate when you take a moment or two to talk to them, make them feel at ease.
Other people are clearly meant to be left to those who are trained to handle these kind of patients.
Same in life. It's in our nature to observe people when first we meet them. We can, most of us that is, size up someone who is approachable and who isn't.
Oddly young kids are very adept at this. Their little minds haven't yet learned the nuances of the adult world so they tend to very cautious, usually.
Especially when it comes to sexual abuse. Children know this is inherently wrong because the brain is telling the body “Unit is not ready for sexual function. Access denied’’.
Sadly pedophiles know this so it's this natural inhibition that the pedophile must break down.
Not that Beck is a pedophile, that isn't what I'm saying of him at all.
It's just that he seems to be a bit ...unhinged. Duplicitous. I never cared for the guy. He just seems odd.
When I see this clip of this little girl and how she reacts, her face staring fixedly ahead, but her body language operating on its own...
You hear Biden's lefty apologists saying "Oh, Biden is just being 'handsy' and familiar..." but watching that little girl in the clip below, you know exactly what that inner voice is telling her, and it isn't saying "Oh, that's grand-dad kindly putting his hand on me..."
