I'm sorry if this may offend you or your wife but (and this is just my opinion) if you want to do what's right by your family, you will not go back. Further, by doing so (going back), you are signaling that it's ok to screw over families by taxing them into oblivion, teaching their children abominations and oppressing them so much that their vote will never again count.
You are the head of your household. Your wife has stated she will stay if you want. What's the issue?
