Very unbelievable segment.
Serves to tie in to another plot thread I think, but I don’t remember which one.
Spoiler alert (again don’t care).
He just happened to save Smiley’s cousin from getting raped earlier in the day and Smiley gets her on the phone and she admits it so Smiley gives him his piece back and then the hunt is on for the partner who set him up.
I won’t say how Smiley found out how Ethan had come across Lety, though.
