Reminds me of the many people who have died from hypothermia climbing Mt. Washington on what began as a pleasant, sunny day and deteriorated rapidly.
I did the presidential traverse over three warm, sunny, dry days in July. It was tough. I can’t imagine how dangerous it must be in the wet and cold.
I did the Mt. Washington hill climb bicycle race in the 80’s. It was 70’s and clear until about halfway up, 50 with 10 foot visibility at the finish. That and the steepness of the climb (the last half dirt) made it a ghastly experience.
