The slide and deck opened in 2016 with the idea of making the tower a tourist attraction.

Located nearly 1,000 feet (304.8 meters) above the ground, the Skyslide is a see-through enclosure 45 feet long (13.7 meters) and made of 1.25-inch-thick (3.18 centimeter) glass. Visitors could slide from the 70th floor down to the 69th floor.

Skyspace floors will be turned back into office space.

Might become a fun eBay purchase? From my 2ed foor to the yard?

Looks like it might require mass quantities of Windex?

...paying for a piece of iconic poker memorabilia...

A hunk of steel with everyone's skid marks? Where does one go to get it's reputation back?

If it went from the 70th floor to the 1st floor then it would be a major attraction.

My “convertible escalator” idea never quite took off. Goes from stairs to slide with the push of a button.

a buddy bought some aircraft exit slides from an online bankruptcy auction for cheap and was going to have some fun with them, but a movie production company found him and made him a very generous off for use as props.

Now if the slide went down all 70 floors it would have been interesting.

I don’t know why your “convertible escalator” idea wasn’t popular. It’s really bumpy sliding down an escalator.

One story? Doesn’t sound that exciting. Unless your slide coincided with an earthquake.

“Aren’t there any rich folk in that area who can save it?”

Why? For a little more money they can travel north to Magic Mountain or south to Disneyland or Knott’s Berry Farm and get a whole lot more than this weak thing.

Long Beach has not been the same as years ago as they closed the Pike and made it more of a walking attraction than a riding one like Queen Mary tours. In other words, a carnival.

There is something like that on a small scale at JUMP in Boise.

Looks like the whole thing is still shut down due to Wu flu.
