I had a music teacher who stated adamantly that mono was better than stereo.

The Stones were just about the best...if not *the* best...from '64 to '71. But to hear them at their *very* best listen to "Tell Me" (the long version).

As for mono vs stereo back then just about everything was mastered in mono and an artificial stereo version was released.The first Beatles album that was true stereo was Abbey Road.
