I’m confused about your post. Are you saying these numbers are pro or anti vaccine?
Every time a new number is released some freepers calculate the “small” number of breakthrough cases reported compared to the number of people vaxxed and decide that breakthrough cases are “rare” and insignificant. They are wrong.
Even the CDC makes clear the number is undercounted “It is important to note that reported vaccine breakthrough cases will represent an undercount. This surveillance system is passive and relies on voluntary reporting from state health departments which may not be complete. Also, not all real-world breakthrough cases will be identified because of lack of testing. This is particularly true in instances of asymptomatic or mild illness. These surveillance data are a snapshot and help identify patterns and look for signals among vaccine breakthrough cases.”
But, the most significant problem in misinterpreting these early numbers is that most people (vaxxed or unvaxxed) will not be exposed to covid. So the fact that someone does not get covid does not indicate that the vax prevented it.
There are some anecdotal suggestions that breakthrough cases are much higher than the CDC expected.
First, after 3 weeks or reporting all the numbers they did a 180 degree turn and will no longer even be collecting most of them.
Second, Dr. Risch has said that in speaking to clinicians he has been told that half of the patients they treat for covid have been vaccinated.
Third, 9 vaccinated Yankees out of a 50 man traveling party all contracted covid.
Fourth, Moderna’s six month review of its Cove 3 clinical trial reported that 900 (vs. 11 in the initial 2 month point of the trial) vaccinated participants contracted covid and 100 of the cases were severe.

Post-Vaccination Covid-19 Infection
Thomas Pliura, M.D., J.D. | Private Practice
I’ve cared for 8 patients who were fully vaccinated and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 > 6 weeks after their second vaccine dose (5 Pfizer/BioNTech, 3 Moderna). All had relatively mild symptoms. One was young, the other > 45 y. None required hospitalization. Three were treated with the monoclonal antibody infusion (bamlanivimab and etesevimab).
I have drawn antibody levels on 4 and they had IgG antibodies at the time they tested positive, suggesting to me that these infections might likely be related to variant strains that are slipping past antibody protection from the vaccine. It seems like the vaccine is certainly stimulating antibody production in the patients, yet they are still getting infected with Covid.
