Another way of thinking about the p value, 0.05 means it is a 95% chance the results are not the result of a fluke or random chance (one in 20). 0.01 means it is 99% chance it’s not a fluke (one in 100). 0.5 is, thus, a coin toss (50:50).
But this alone is not enough to tell you much. A lot of other variables to consider. You really need a large sample size, and good controls on the test subjects to rule out outside factors, and clear objectives pre-defined. I’m not poopooing the study, I am personally convinced Vitamin D plays a role in overall health (I don’t think anyone disputes that) and as anti-covid therapy as well (some debate that, though I don’t know why I think those people are weirdos).
