Better to have a war than go out without a fight like the Jews did.
Jews have not been known as warrior people since they were Israelites and even then they were not known as warriors there were known more as mono theistic which pissed people off by the exclusivity of it all there have been exceptions the Israelis obviously are willing to fight like Hagganah
