It’s funny. I tried that with the infusion center at my clinic. They didn’t know anything about MABs for COVID, so the person I talked to put me in touch with the head of the center. The head said she would get back to me.

She then looked up my immunologist and contacted her without my permission. Then my immunologist wrote me a somewhat nasty message saying “I told you we would deal with it if you get sick and why are you contacting the infusion center?” That was the end of it — I got stymied again and gave up.

The whole thing was a clusterfark from my viewpoint.

The manager and the immunologist should both get letters of complaint. The manager violated HIPPA by giving your name to your immunologist, tell her what you think of that.

Your immunologist deserves a sincere piece of your mind for being a dick. All you want is peace of mind, is it so hard for him to discuss options with you to ease your mental distress before you find yourself in physical distress?

You may find communicating in writing easier anyway, because you can polish your rhetoric. And doctors can deal with it sitting down with a cup of coffee instead of on their feet moving from patient to patient.

I don’t know if you are a bible reader but two maxims I have adopted from scripture have served me well in life.

You have not because you ask not... tell people what you want, be clear and concise. Rambling around an issue, hinting, waiting for others to read your mind is wasting the time, energy and good will of others. Speak up and ask.

The other is from the story about the woman seeking justice from a corrupt judge. He finally gave her justice to make her go away. Pretty sure God didn’t use toddlers as the example because he expects us to behave like mature adults and be sure we are seeking legitimate things, not just our whims or desires. But persistence pays off when your requests are sincere, reasonable and repeated.

That’s my considered advice and I have a fearsome reputation for getting what I ask.
