A Virginia deputy could be seen on video lifting up a car to free a woman trapped underneath.
Gloucester County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Holt jumped into superhero mode after he saw an out-of-control car flip over last May.
Officials released bodycam video of the incident on Tuesday, and Holt spoke to 13 News Now about his efforts.
“So I was on the scene, I observed the vehicle upside down with one of the juvenile occupants outside the vehicle,” Holt told the local station.
As Holt bolts to the car, another child inside could be heard screaming that his mother was stuck.
“He said she can’t breathe and you know, calling to his mother… at that point her head was pinned underneath the vehicle,” Holt said.
After the deputy got the child out of the car, the body camera video fades to black, but the sound of Holt using all his might to lift the car is audible.
“At that point, I put my shoulder into the doorframe and braced as best I could and I said, ‘All I have to do is just stand up.’ That’s what all I was telling myself, and at that point with as much effort as I could, I tried to stand up and stood up enough so she could free herself and was able to start breathing,” Holt explained to 13 News Now.
The woman he saved is expected to recover.

Right?
That’s great for the woman under that car. Hopefully, this officer was able to do this kind of hoisting without messing his back up too much. He didn’t have many other choices.
To wait for a backup could have been fatal for the woman and traumatic for her child.
Have leftists yet figured out how this is RAAACIST?
Well done, Officer Holt
Acts like these were inspiration for “The Incredible Hulk” with Lou Ferrigno.
According to the article, this happened May 7th, 2020.
Don't they know the woman's condition by now?
What kind of vehicle?
At the age of 16 I was able to lift the back of my car enough to slide it sideways, but then, it was a 1980 chevy chevette.
waiting for the weird cop hating FR contingent to show up insisting that this was somehow excessive use of force, and the cop sucks anyway because he stood by while the election was stolen.
I remember reading about someone inventing a Lift Bag that could be hooked up to the exhaust pipe of a car.
The Lift Bag would be placed under the car and the car exhaust would fill the bag raising the car, off the woman in this case.
I realize that it would not make sense to have one of these lift bags in every police car but is a possible solution.
If memory serves, the devise from out of the trunk could lift a car in less than 5 minutes.
When I was 14 I bought a `51 Dodge for 25 bucks coz it needed repairs. I drove it on the farm. I was able to lift the rear end and slide it sideways in the wintertime to get it on a rug or two for traction... Did the same thing with a Corvair front end. Had a 58 caddy.. could not lift that sucker at all.
I hope he didnt cause himself physical problems. Prayers up for him as well.
Unbreakable with Bruce Willis.
I wonder if he can drop by my place. I need to rotate my tires.
Awesome job, Deputy Holt!
BTW, Gloucester is my home county here in VA… very conservative and a 2A sanctuary!

Cue the “Six Million Dollar Man” theme music.
Well done, deputy! We need more people like you!
In five minutes without oxygen, you’re dead. Not sure that the Lift Bag would have helped in this situation.
I’m taking bets — how many thinks Deputy Sheriff Holt voted for Joe Biden?
They say you go to war with the army you’ve got.
In an emergency you use the tools at hand.
Not everyone can lift a car.
This cop as others have said may have done himself permanent injury to save this woman’s life. I give them man all credit due him. I could not have done anything for her.
A tool like the lift bag in my hands would, if I had one might save someone. If only I knew where to get one.
