It’s been long-running, knee-jerk conventional wisdom in these parts that the McCloskeys are limousine liberals who got mugged and changed their tune.
Way back last summer, I decided to do my own research into the issue and found that the McCloskeys were Trump supporters in 2016 as well as backing other GOP candidates in previous cycles.

Makes sense...if he WERE a lefty or even close he wouldn’t have been vilified by the media like he was....
That was why I asked...I didn’t state it as a fact for a specific reason.
When I had done my own research around the time it happened, it was nearly impossible to disentangle anything because of the way things are being reported in the media.
And I decided at that point that I had spent enough time poking at it and there were more important things to look at. This just piqued my memory.
I don’t think that my post rose to the level of a knee-jerk response.
And not that I have any kind of issue with people who are liberals or leftists coming around because of bad experiences they have had with Leftism.
One of the most famous conservative voices on our side came to our side for precisely that reason (David Horowitz) so,Even when I do hear that that’s true, pretty much the only thing I have say to people in that position is… “Welcome”.
So when I say thank you for the information, I do mean it.
Next question is did they spread the money around as lawyers do?
Contributions to GOP too. Maybe they get GOPe support now. But how would the person vote in the US Senate?
Like Susan Collins or more like Josh Hawley? Being a victim of the Leftist mobs shouldn’t be an easy ride to the US Senate. It’s an important job.
